The Joe Bonamassa “Bonabyrd” Les Paul stands among the most distinctive of these collaborations. Built by the Gibson Custom Shop, the Bonabyrd is inspired by a rare custom Les Paul owned by Bonamassa, blending classic Les Paul construction with bold visual styling and modern collectible appeal.

This limited edition instrument, number 50 of only 100 produced, features a striking Pelham Blue finish, giving the guitar a unique vintage-inspired aesthetic rarely seen on Les Paul models. The guitar also carries Joe Bonamassa’s signature on the back of the headstock, along with the numbered inscription confirming its place within the limited run.

Construction follows traditional Les Paul tonewood formulas, with a solid mahogany body and carved maple top, paired with a comfortable mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard. The guitar is equipped with a pair of Custom Shop humbuckers, delivering the thick sustain, articulate midrange, and expressive dynamics associated with Bonamassa’s signature tone.

Visually elegant yet unmistakably bold, the Bonabyrd perfectly balances vintage Gibson heritage with modern artist-driven design.

Condition

Excellent condition overall.

The finish retains a beautiful gloss and presents extremely well. Hardware shows minimal signs of use. The neck is straight, frets are in excellent playing condition, and the electronics function exactly as intended.

A small cosmetic imperfection is visible along the fingerboard binding (as shown in the detailed photo), purely cosmetic and not affecting playability.
